JUNE 2017

Dear Friends,

Gosh, It’s June 1st already! Five months of 2017 have gone by in it seems like a blink of an eye. We have said our goodbyes to Pastor Jim and Andrea. They have been a blessing to our churches and communities in so many ways, and now we are looking towards the future. A very uncertain future. As your SPRC committee chairperson, I want each and every one of you to know that we--the SPRC committee, the District Superintendent Rev. Jeff Rainwater, our Bishop, Rev. Karen Oliveto; and the Cabinet-- are working hard on an appointment to our churches. The Bishop and Cabinet are working diligently to find a suitable candidate and as soon as that happens, they will then forward the information to Rev. Rainwater, who in turn will forward it to me and I will share it with the SPRC committee. It is not fast process, although we wish it could be. Let’s support our church, support our fellow church members, and as always hold the SPRC committee, the District Superintendent, the Cabinet and our Bishop in your prayers. They will be answered in God’s time and in God’s way. Our God is an awesome God and He will provide. Until that time, let’s join together to support each other in this time of transition and uncertainty.

The United Methodist Women are now selling Equal Exchange, Fairly Traded
Coffee. This is the same coffee as they are providing during our fellowship
time. It is $9.00 for a full, one pound bag of ground, caffeinated,
Fellowship Blend coffee. It wiII be for sale after church in the Fellowship
Hall. Thanks for your support!

It's time once again to start saving your change for the "Bridge of Love"
offering to be taken to the annual conference in June. This year's
mission focus is on helping those who suffer from insecurity in regards to
where they will find healthy food and clean water. A container for collecting
your donations will be in the back of the church in mid-May.

Thank you for your support,

Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for your amazing send-off!

I'm not sure that I have ever seen so much delicious food in one
place as we enjoyed on Sunday. The hanburgers,*; and what a cake!

We opened the Amazing Wyoming basket when we arrivedhome on Monday.
Seasoning mixes, honey*, a delicious prarie pie, pancake mix in a
bottle !?!*, coffee....

I love the note cards, the book about Wyoming, the tote bag, the
special framed tributes, the mugs, and the salt & pepper shakers.

Jim will get good use out of the cap and the Wyoming cowboys spartula.

Cowboy Joe on Steamboat is adorning our garden.

But our favorite item is the blanket. We will use it often & fondly
remember you and our time in Wyoming.

Happy trails to you, as well

The United Methodist Women (UMW) met on May 11, 2017, for
our monthly lunch, program, and business meeting. After we ate,
Kathy W. presented a brief program about Mothers in Action.
The business meeting was conducted after the program. The group
discussed the upcoming funerals for Charlie K. and Janet M..
Rowann reported that the Project Patricia Cut-Ups are working on
filling box # 49, which will be sent as soon as the box is full.
The group will not meet over the summer, but will resume the first
Tuesday of September. We have received our new supply of Free
Trade coffee, so church members may place their orders.

Although the UMW will not have a business meeting over the summer,
we will hold our annual Ice Cream Social in honor of Father’s Day
on June 18th after Wheatland UMC’s service. Those of you who can
come to scoop ice cream for this event are asked to assemble at
the church kitchen at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, after the
WUMC breakfasts. All of our fathers and grandfathers are invited
to attend and be honored. UMW ladies will also meet for a bring-
your-own picnic on July 13 at Lewis Park, provided the >weather
cooperates. If the weather is inclement, we will move the event
to the Fellowship Hall.

The UMW discussed the request for us to host a scientific lecture
during the week in August of the solar eclipse. We decided to
decline the invitation. We are not equipped to host more than
100 people at a time. The group also discussed plans for the
rest of the year. Everyone was wished a fun summer as the
meeting adjourned.

All ladies of the church are invited to attend any of these
events. We need all the help we can get to carry out the activities
UMW does at WUMC and in our community. If you need a ride to
any of these events, please call Kathy Wilson at 322-1623.
